On Monday, Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi informed Iranian Ambassador Reza Amiri Moghadam about the progress of preparations for the peace talks to be held in Islamabad during a meeting in the capital.
elchi reports that the “AP” agency provided information about this.
The ministry’s statement says that both sides emphasized the importance of a sustainable resolution of the conflict through diplomatic channels to reduce regional tensions.
The meeting took place a few hours after Naqvi briefed the US Charge d’Affaires Natalie Baker on the preparations for the talks.
It should be noted that last week Naqvi was part of a delegation led by the Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan, Field Marshal Asim Munir, who visited Tehran to advance the peace process. According to Naqvi, the Iranian ambassador highly appreciated the positive and constructive role Pakistan has played in de-escalating tensions.
