First Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan – Chief of the General Staff of the Azerbaijan Army, Colonel-General Karim Valiyev, met with a delegation led by Professor Talat Canbolat, Vice-Rector of the National Defense University of Turkey, who is on a visit to Azerbaijan.
According to the information provided to “Elchi” by the Ministry of Defense, the Turkish guests first visited the Alley of Honor, where they paid tribute to the National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the prominent ophthalmologist-scientist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva, laying wreaths at their graves. They also visited the Alley of Martyrs and the Turkish Martyrs’ Memorial, where they laid flowers and honored their memory with respect.
Welcoming the guests at the General Staff of the Azerbaijan Army, Colonel-General Karim Valiyev emphasized that Azerbaijan-Turkey relations are based on historical roots and noted the importance of developing these ties in the field of military education, as in other areas.
It was stated that the mutual exchange of experience in the field of military education plays an important role in enhancing the knowledge and skills of military personnel.
Expressing his gratitude for the warm reception and hospitality, Professor Talat Canbolat noted that cooperation in the field of military education is at a high level.
During the meeting, a broad exchange of views took place regarding the current state and development prospects of joint work in the field of military education, as well as a number of topics of mutual interest.
