In the Ergani district of Turkey’s Diyarbakir province, 2 children died and 1 person was seriously injured after lightning struck a tree in the courtyard of a primary school.

According to the information, the lightning struck a tree located in the schoolyard. At that time, 13-year-old Serkan Yıldırım, 14-year-old Kasım Yıldırım, and another child who were under the tree were injured. The emergency medical team called to the scene took the injured to the hospital.
Despite the efforts of the doctors, Serkan Yıldırım and Kasım Yıldırım died. It is reported that the condition of the other injured person, who is continuing treatment in the hospital, is serious.
The children who lost their lives were cousins.
