State Service: Illegal tree cutting has caused over 133 thousand manats of damage to green spaces

 

During control measures carried out by employees of the State Environmental Safety Service over the past week, facts of illegal cutting of green spaces were discovered in the cities of Baku and Sumgayit, as well as in the Absheron, Gakh, and Oghuz districts.

“Elchi” reports, citing the service, that investigations revealed that illegal tree cutting at 120A Gara Garayev Avenue in the Nizami district of Baku, 10th Badamdar Street in the Badamdar settlement of the Sabail district, 69 Muzaffar Hasanov Street in the Yasamal district, Samad Vurgun Street in Sumgayit, 20A Rafiq Dunyamaliyev Street in the Masazir village of the Absheron district, in the territory of Gazmalar village in the Gakh district, near Tasmali village in the Gakh district, in the territory of Filfilli village in the Oghuz district, and near Yagublu village in the Oghuz district resulted in damage to green spaces amounting to 133,140 manats.

Since the amount of damage caused to green spaces in each case constitutes a criminal offense, the collected materials have been sent to law enforcement agencies for legal assessment.
