Germany is prepared to contribute to ensuring shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, provided that the legal aspects of the issue are clarified and a mandate for the mission is obtained.
“Elchi” reports that this was stated by the Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, Friedrich Merz.
“If there is a clear legal basis for this, if the German government makes a decision regarding it, and if the Bundestag grants a mandate for it, we are ready to contribute to ensuring freedom of navigation,” Merz said.
