Georgia and Azerbaijan understand each other’s importance very well, and this further strengthens the existing friendship and cooperation.
“Elchi” reports that this was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Maka Bochorishvili.
According to her, close cooperation is important for both countries.
“For Georgia, relations with Azerbaijan are important in terms of connections with Asia, and for Azerbaijan, relations with Georgia are important in terms of connections with Europe. These relations should be further expanded in the future,” Bochorishvili added.
The FM emphasized that Azerbaijan is a very important trade partner for Georgia and that trade and economic relations between the countries are developing further.
“A meeting of the economic cooperation commission with Azerbaijan is planned to be held in Georgia at the end of this month. Within the framework of the meeting, specific directions, concrete results, and future plans will be discussed. There is already a foundation to create better examples of cooperation with each other in the future,” the FM said.
The minister noted that cooperation between Georgia and Azerbaijan in the field of joint investments is quite close.
“Azerbaijan is a country that invests significantly in Georgia, and we are further developing this cooperation to have joint projects. Against the background of current events, we can say with confidence that the importance of Georgia-Azerbaijan cooperation goes beyond the regional level and has broader significance in the context of global processes,” the minister added.
