The situation regarding the repair and restoration works on the Bibiheybat road has caused dissatisfaction.

It was stated that, according to the information previously provided by the State Agency of Azerbaijan Automobile Roads (AAYDA), the road in the mentioned area was supposed to be completely closed from 10:00 on April 13 to 07:00 on April 15. However, even though the specified date has passed, the operations of bus routes 72, 125, 149, 205, and E1 have not yet been restored, and no official statement has been issued regarding the matter.
The post emphasizes that the current situation has seriously affected the daily lives of residents living in the area. Citizens have faced difficulties in getting to school, university, and work.
“The fact that the repair works coincide with working days also raises questions. Planning such restrictions for the weekend could both reduce traffic congestion and minimize the impact on citizens’ daily lives,” the post noted.
Regarding the issue, AAYDA stated that there was a delay of approximately 10-12 hours in the repair works due to rainy weather conditions.
According to the agency, the works are currently in the final stage, and the restoration will be completed this evening, with traffic on the road being fully restored:
“The repair process was organized with maximum consideration for the convenience of citizens. During the period when the problem arose, the road was not completely closed; two-way traffic was ensured in one direction while the works were carried out in parallel. Only in the final stage were short-term restrictions imposed on the road to ensure safety requirements and the free movement of machinery.”
The statement also emphasized that this intervention was not a pre-planned repair work:
“Due to the deformation that occurred in the area, it was necessary to take operational and urgent measures. Other pre-planned repair works are mainly carried out at night or on weekends to ensure the convenience of citizens.”
