The US Navy has detained eight oil tankers attempting to enter or leave the Islamic Republic’s ports since the start of the naval blockade against Iran.
“Elchi” reports that this claim was made by The Wall Street Journal, citing an unnamed official in the US administration.
According to the newspaper, US military personnel established radio contact with the commercial vessels and ordered them to change course. The publication writes that all tankers complied with the military’s demands.
According to the information, 15 warships and several thousand military personnel are involved in the naval blockade of Iran.
