The Main State Traffic Police Department has issued a warning to road users regarding adverse weather conditions
According to “Elchi”, the warning states that, based on information from the National Hydrometeorology Service, weather conditions in the country are expected to change in the coming days, with strong and intermittently intensifying winds, as well as precipitation of varying intensity. Such weather conditions significantly affect road safety and create additional risks.
In this regard, the traffic police call on all road users to be more careful and strictly observe traffic rules:
“We note that in rainy and windy weather, drivers should choose their speed according to road and weather conditions, maintain a safe distance from the vehicle in front, and avoid sharp maneuvers and unjustified overtaking. Vehicle headlights and light signals must be in good working order, and low-beam and parking lights should be kept on at all times. When visibility is reduced, fog lights should only be used when necessary, and high-beam lights should not be used to avoid hindering oncoming vehicles.
Pedestrians should cross the road only at designated crossings in conditions of limited visibility and should be more careful and cautious so that drivers can see them in time.”
It is noted that windy weather creates serious difficulties in operating two-wheeled vehicles, including mopeds, motorcycles, and scooters: “As a result of strong winds, the risk of losing balance and overturning these types of vehicles increases significantly, which poses a real danger to both the drivers themselves and other vehicles and pedestrians.
In the current weather conditions, the responsible behavior of every road user, as well as mutual attention and understanding, plays an important role in preventing traffic accidents.”
