MEDIA: Allegations of missile launches from Azerbaijan to Gulf countries are baseless

In recent days, completely baseless and untrue information has been circulating on some social media platforms regarding the alleged launch of missiles from the territory of Azerbaijan towards Gulf countries.

“Elchi” reports that the Media Development Agency has released a statement regarding this matter.

It was stated that against the backdrop of the existing tension in the region, the spread of unverified and inaccurate information on social networks serves to form false perceptions in public opinion and is of a deliberate disinformation nature.

“We strongly condemn such attempts.

These types of claims are either deliberately provocative or the result of a completely irresponsible and baseless approach. In the conditions of modern technological capabilities, it is not difficult to determine from which direction a missile or other flight vehicle was launched.

The region and the Gulf countries possess modern radar and surveillance systems, and through these systems, the origin and trajectory of objects are clearly determined.

We declare that the Republic of Azerbaijan is always committed to the principles of international law, the sovereignty of states, and the maintenance of regional stability. We call on all parties to refer only to verified and reliable sources and to refrain from spreading unconfirmed information.

We urge media entities and social network users to demonstrate high professionalism and responsibility when disseminating information, to rely only on official and reliable sources, and not to allow the spread of suspicious and manipulative information,” the statement noted.
