Australia: “Local residents are paying the price for the conflict in Iran”

Washington’s decision to initiate a military conflict in Iran has led to instability in the global economy and increased costs for Australian residents.

elchi reports that the country’s Treasurer, Jim Chalmers, has stated this.

“These decisions were made in Washington, but Australians are paying the price,” he said while commenting on the economic impact of the conflict in the Middle East. In his conversation with journalists, the minister emphasized: “Australians did not choose this war and did not make the decisions that led to it. These decisions were primarily made by the American side, but the consequences are being fully felt by Australian residents as well.”

According to Chalmers, the actions of the US have introduced unpredictable elements and instability into the global economy, which directly affects the standard of living in Australia. “The decisions were made at a table in the ‘Situation Room’ in Washington, while Australians are gathering around their kitchen tables trying to figure out how they will pay the price for it,” the minister noted.

“From an economic perspective, in terms of the cost of living, the end of this war will not lead to immediate relief,” Chalmers warned.
