At the invitation of the Minister of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan, Colonel-General Vilayat Eyvazov, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Turkey, Mustafa Ciftci, and the delegation led by him have arrived in our country for an official visit.
This was reported to “Elchi” by the Press Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).
On April 9, Minister Mustafa Ciftci and his accompanying delegation visited the Alley of Honor to pay tribute to the national leader of our people, Heydar Aliyev. Afterward, the representatives of the brotherly country visited the “Eternal Flame” monument complex at the Alley of Martyrs and the Turkish Martyrdom.
On the same day, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan, Colonel-General Vilayat Eyvazov, met with his Turkish counterpart and the delegation led by him.
Welcoming the guests, V. Eyvazov congratulated Mr. M. Ciftci on his appointment as Minister of Internal Affairs and expressed his gratitude for accepting the invitation and paying an official visit.
He emphasized with satisfaction that the cooperation between the Ministries of Internal Affairs of the two countries is at a high level and noted that the Ministry of Internal Affairs he leads always attaches importance to the intensive development of relations with the law enforcement agencies of the brotherly country, including international cooperation. It was noted that these relations are primarily realized based on interstate agreements on mutual legal assistance, exchange of experience, friendship, and the development of comprehensive cooperation.
Highlighting the positive results achieved by the Azerbaijani police and the Internal Troops of the MIA in maintaining public order and combating crime in the republic, the Minister expressed his satisfaction with the special role and services of the Turkish Ministry of Internal Affairs, including the Gendarmerie Forces, in improving these activities, and thanked the leadership of the Turkish Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Gendarmerie Forces in the person of Mr. Mustafa Ciftci.
V. Eyvazov expressed his confidence that Mr. Mustafa Ciftci’s first official visit to Azerbaijan would have a positive impact on the development and deepening of our relations.
Expressing his gratitude for the warm reception, detailed information, and hospitality, the Turkish Minister of Internal Affairs expressed his pleasure regarding his visit to our republic, the fact that our friendly and brotherly countries always act from a unified position and with joint efforts against global problems that pose a serious obstacle to peace and stability in the region, including all manifestations of organized crime, as well as Azerbaijan’s rapid development, the stability established in our country, and the fact that Baku is one of the most beautiful capitals and safest cities in the world.
He highly appreciated the fruitful cooperation between the relevant bodies of the two countries, emphasizing that they will continue to spare no effort for the development of relations, and that such cooperation and exchange of experience serve the interests of our peoples and countries.
During the meeting, which was held in an atmosphere of friendship and kindness, a number of other issues of mutual interest were also discussed.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkey to our country, Birol Akgun, participated in the meeting.
