In order to ensure safe and efficient management of traffic flow during the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), which will be held in Baku from May 17 to 22, the movement of vehicles along designated routes will be monitored.
elchi reports that in this regard, as part of the monitoring to be carried out jointly by the WUF13 Azerbaijan Operating Company and relevant authorities, temporary traffic restrictions are planned on a number of streets and avenues in Baku from 01:30 to 03:30 on the night of April 11 to 12.
The WUF13 Azerbaijan Operating Company informed AZERTAC that the monitoring will cover Neftchilar Avenue, Yusif Safarov Street, partially Heydar Aliyev Avenue (up to the Sabunchu bridge), Mehdi Huseyn Street, Khojaly Avenue, Richard Sorge Street, Zarifa Aliyeva Street, as well as the directions leading to the event venue, the Baku Olympic Stadium.
Drivers and other road users are requested to plan their movements in advance during the specified time, take into account possible congestion in those directions, and use alternative routes.
Express bus routes operating between Heydar Aliyev International Airport and the city center will continue to operate normally and without obstruction.
It should be noted that the monitoring of vehicle traffic conducted before WUF13 has also been applied and successfully implemented as part of preparations for a number of global events held in Azerbaijan over the last decade.
