The TRIPP (“Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity”) transport corridor program remains one of the priorities for the US.

“Elchi” reports that a representative of the US Department of State stated this in response to an inquiry from the “Armenpress” agency.

“The administration of US President Donald Trump remains committed to the implementation of the TRIPP program as before. This project remains one of the key priorities for Washington, as it has the potential to contribute to peace and prosperity in the South Caucasus and beyond,” the State Department noted.

According to the representative of the US foreign policy agency, the TRIPP transport corridor will ensure uninterrupted international and domestic connectivity in the region by expanding economic growth opportunities.

“The ultimate goals of the TRIPP program are to strengthen the prosperity and security of Armenia and Azerbaijan, expand US trade opportunities through the development of regional trade and connectivity, and create new transit links from Central Asia and the Caspian region to Europe,” the State Department representative said.

It should be recalled that on August 8, 2025, in Washington, the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia, with the participation of the US President, signed a joint declaration consisting of 7 points. One of the points of this document refers to the launch of the Zangezur corridor (“Trump Route” – the 42-kilometer section of the corridor that will pass through the territory of Armenia – ed.) within the framework of unblocking regional communications.

In addition, the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia initialed the “Agreement on the Establishment of Peace and Interstate Relations”.
