The initial contract period for women when joining extended active military service has been reduced from 3 years to 6 months.
“Elchi” reports that this is reflected in the amendments to the “Regulations on Military Service” approved by President Ilham Aliyev and the laws “On Military Duty and Military Service”.
Until now, according to Article 38.1.2 of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On Military Duty and Military Service”, the initial contract period for military personnel in extended active military service, those entering from conscription, from the reserve, and for women, was set at 3 years. The same provision was also stipulated in clause “b” of Article 12 of the “Regulations on Military Service”.
According to the law, the initial contract period for women has been reduced from 3 years to 6 months.
