Lithuanian Prime Minister Inga Ruginiene shared a post on her official social media account regarding her meeting with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
According to “Elchi”, the Prime Minister expressed her gratitude to Ilham Aliyev for the high level of hospitality shown in Baku.
She emphasized the existence of great potential for further expanding the bilateral partnership between the two countries:
“Official Vilnius considers the rapprochement between the European Union and Azerbaijan for the sake of security, stability, and economic progress, especially strategic cooperation in the energy sector, a priority.”
Touching upon the geopolitical situation in the region, the Lithuanian official noted the increasing importance of interstate unity against the backdrop of Russia’s military operations in Ukraine.
In conclusion, the Prime Minister addressed the peace process in the South Caucasus, stating: “Lithuania absolutely supports the steps taken towards achieving lasting peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia, positively assesses the successes achieved on this path, and is in favor of sustainable order in the region.”
