Lithuanian Prime Minister: We support the progress achieved between Baku and Yerevan

Lithuanian Prime Minister Inga Ruginienė shared a post on her official social media account regarding her meeting with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

According to elchi, the Prime Minister expressed her gratitude to Ilham Aliyev for the high level of hospitality shown in Baku.

She emphasized that there is great potential for further expanding the bilateral partnership between the two countries:

“Official Vilnius considers the rapprochement between the European Union and Azerbaijan, especially strategic cooperation in the energy sector, a priority for the sake of security, stability, and economic progress.”

Touching upon the geopolitical situation in the region, the Lithuanian official noted that the importance of interstate unity has increased against the backdrop of Russia’s military operations in Ukraine.

In conclusion, addressing the peace process in the South Caucasus, the Prime Minister said: “Lithuania absolutely supports the steps taken towards achieving lasting peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia, positively assesses the successes achieved on this path, and advocates for sustainable order in the region.”
