As a result of research conducted at the Institute of Manuscripts named after Muhammad Fuzuli of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, some scientific facts regarding the work of Gasim bey Zakir have been obtained.
This was reported to elchi by ANAS.
It was stated that during the research, errors made in previously published works were corrected, and as a result of the analysis of archive and manuscript materials, 29 new poems written by the poet in various genres were included in his collection:
“Along with this, it has been proven with solid scientific facts that the mukhammas titled “Haji Boyuk bey”, which was considered doubtful in the “Additions” section of the 1964 edition, belongs to Gasim bey Zakir.
During the research, authorship issues were also reviewed. Thus, it was determined that the mukhammas with the radif “Olumu”, as well as the qoshmas with the radifs “Ustuna”, “Galmadi”, and “Oldu”, do not belong to Zakir, but to the Sheki poet Molla Gasim Zakir, and these examples were removed from the works of Gasim bey Zakir.
The book “Gasim bey Zakir. Works”, published based on the obtained results, is considered a complete and scientifically verified collection of the poet’s heritage.”
