Vance, Witkoff, and Kushner to represent the US in negotiations with Iran

US Vice President J.D. Vance, the President’s special envoy Steve Witkoff, and businessman Jared Kushner will head to Islamabad for negotiations with the Iranian delegation.

“Elchi” reports that White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt announced this during a press briefing.

“The President (US President Donald Trump – ed.) is sending a negotiating team led by US Vice President J.D. Vance, special envoy Witkoff, and businessman Kushner to Islamabad this weekend to hold talks,” she said.

According to Leavitt, the first round of these negotiations will take place on Saturday morning, local time.

It should be recalled that Iran, the US, and their allies reached an agreement on a two-week ceasefire on the night of April 8, 2026. Iran stated that during this period, safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz would be ensured in coordination with the Iranian Armed Forces and taking into account technical limitations.

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif invited the US and Iranian delegations to hold talks in the country’s capital on April 10.
