Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, during a phone call with Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, confirmed that his country will participate in the talks scheduled with US representatives in Islamabad this weekend.

“President Pezeshkian thanked the Prime Minister and highly appreciated the efforts of the Pakistani leadership towards achieving a temporary ceasefire between Iran and the US, and also conveyed his best wishes to the people of Pakistan. He confirmed that Iran will participate in the Islamabad talks,” the statement on the agency’s “X” account said. The office clarified that the “sincere and friendly conversation” between Sharif and Pezeshkian lasted more than 45 minutes.
