Fars: The damages caused by Iran will be covered by the national investment fund.
elchi reports that the damages caused by Iran during the conflict with the US and Israel will be covered by a specially created investment fund. This was reported by Iran’s Fars news agency, citing a source familiar with the full text of the ceasefire terms presented by Tehran.
“The plan defining the final framework for the ceasefire includes the following points: … compensation for damages through the creation of a national investment fund,” the report states.
There is no information yet regarding the structure and management of this fund.
According to the agency, Iran intends to collect fees for ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz in the future and use a portion of the collected taxes for programs to restore facilities destroyed during the conflict.
On Wednesday, an hour and a half before his ultimatum expired, US President Donald Trump announced a two-week ceasefire with Iran. According to him, the decision was made after discussions with Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the country’s army chief Asim Munir.
Tehran confirmed its readiness to cease military operations provided that a number of conditions are met and declared a temporary navigation regime in the Strait of Hormuz. US-Iran negotiations are scheduled to begin later this week in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan.
