Iran has announced that it has accepted the two-week ceasefire announced by US President Trump. Iran stated that passage through the Strait of Hormuz will be under the control of its armed forces.
elchi reports that the Iranian administration announced its goal to conclude negotiations to be held in Pakistan to end the war with the US and Israel within the 15-day ceasefire period.
Following US President Donald Trump’s announcement of a 15-day ceasefire with Iran, a statement was issued by the Tehran administration.
The statement issued by the Secretariat of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran says, “Iran has achieved its goals in the war.” The statement adds: “With the approval of the country’s leader Mojtaba Khamenei and the Supreme National Security Council, it has been decided to hold negotiations in Islamabad to finalize the agreement. The goal is to conclude these negotiations within a maximum of 15 days and record the victory in the political arena as well.”
Noting that all plans presented by the US have been rejected, the statement lists the 10 points presented by the Tehran administration as follows: “Controlled passage through the Strait of Hormuz in coordination with the Iranian Armed Forces, ending the war against all elements of the axis of resistance, the withdrawal of US military forces from all bases and deployment points in the region, the creation of a transit regulation that ensures safe passage in the Strait of Hormuz and guarantees Iran’s sovereignty within the framework of an agreed protocol, full compensation for the damage caused to Iran according to calculations, the lifting of all primary and secondary sanctions and resolutions of the International Atomic Energy Agency Board of Governors and the United Nations Security Council, the release of all blocked Iranian assets and financial resources abroad, and the confirmation of all these points with a mandatory resolution of the United Nations Security Council.” The statement emphasized that the negotiations would begin on Friday, April 10, in Islamabad with “complete distrust” of the US side and that the goal is to conclude the negotiations within 15 days, although this period could be extended by mutual agreement.
The statement said: “Our fingers are on the trigger. The slightest mistake by the enemy will be met with a strong response.”
