“The US has won the war with Iran”.
elchi reports that this was stated by US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth.
“We have achieved a great victory over Iran. Iran was begging for a ceasefire,” he said.
Pete Hegseth called the event “a great day for world peace.”
The Secretary of War stated that Iran had demonstrated its inability to defend itself, emphasizing that the US had shown only a fraction of its military power:
“The Islamic Republic of Iran’s navy is at the bottom of the sea, and its air force has been destroyed.”
He added that Iran no longer has air defense systems, and the US controls the country’s airspace.
Touching upon Iran’s missile potential, Hegseth noted: “Iran’s missile program has been destroyed.”
It should be recalled that earlier, after US President Donald Trump stated he was ready to temporarily halt attacks on Iran, official Tehran accepted the terms of a two-week ceasefire. One of the conditions relates to Iran opening the Strait of Hormuz. Negotiations between the parties are planned to be held in Islamabad on April 10.
The US and Israel have postponed military operations against Iran for two weeks within the framework of the relevant agreement.
