One of the houses that caused the collapse of the 1200 mm diameter sewage collector under the balance of the United Water Supply Service of Large Cities of the State Water Resources Agency of Azerbaijan has been demolished based on the commission’s decision.
This was reported to “Elchi” by the United Water Supply Service of Large Cities.
The accident, which occurred due to overloading in the collector passing through Rashid Bagirov Street in Khatai district, caused water to accumulate in the surrounding areas. Currently, intensive work is underway to drain the water in those areas. A temporary headquarters has been established for this purpose. The headquarters is led by ADSEA Chairman Zaur Mikayilov. The Agency Chairman was in the area today as well and gave instructions to accelerate the work.
Employees of ADSEA’s United Water Supply Service of Large Cities have removed the soil layer over the damaged section of the sewage collector, which collapsed due to the load at a depth of 9 meters, and repair and restoration work is being carried out.
It should be noted that a 100-meter section of the 500-millimeter cast-iron line remaining under the houses at that address has been replaced with polyethylene pipes and relocated. The old 100 and 150-millimeter steel pipes remaining under the damaged house have also been removed and replaced with new 110 and 160-millimeter polyethylene pipes.
Due to the increased probability of an accident, residents were warned before the current incident and instructed to vacate the area for the safe execution of repair, construction, and restoration work on the collector.
