Over 444.6 million cubic meters of gas have been exported from Azerbaijan to Serbia in more than two years.

elchi reports that this was stated during a meeting between the Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov and the Serbian Minister of Mining and Energy Dubravka Djedovic Handanovic.

During the meeting, the important role of the high-level political relations between the heads of state of Azerbaijan and Serbia in strengthening the strategic partnership between our countries was emphasized. It was noted that the first meeting of the Strategic Partnership Council, held in Belgrade in February of this year under the co-chairmanship of the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Serbia, and the Intergovernmental Agreement signed on the gas-turbine power plant have contributed to the development of cooperation in the energy sector. The first meeting of the Joint Working Group on cooperation in the energy sector, held in March of this year, was also mentioned.

Issues of cooperation in the fields of oil and gas, energy infrastructure, electricity production, energy efficiency, renewable energy, and heat supply were discussed at the meeting. The work carried out towards the implementation of the gas-fired power plant project in Serbia was reviewed. Opportunities for cooperation within the framework of the “Caspian-Black Sea-Europe Green Energy Corridor” project were evaluated.

During the conversation, the Serbian side was invited to participate in the events to be held within the framework of “Baku Energy Week” with a broad delegation.
