Employees of Garadagh District Police Department have carried out a series of operations against the illegal circulation of narcotic drugs.
According to information provided by the Ministry of Internal Affairs to “Elchi”, during measures carried out in the district, 33-year-old Mammadali Mammadov, 33-year-old Orkhan Mehtiyev, 31-year-old Elmar Mehtizade, 35-year-old Vagif Karimov, and 32-year-old Parvin Orujov, suspected of organizing the illegal circulation of narcotics, were detained.
A total of 70 kilograms and 875 grams of marijuana, a narcotic substance with psychotropic additives, were found on them. It was revealed that the detained individuals had entered into criminal relations with various Iranian citizens and obtained the drugs from border regions with the aim of profiting and distributing them to various addresses.
Criminal cases have been initiated regarding the facts, and a pre-trial detention measure has been chosen for the detained individuals by court decision.
Investigations are ongoing.
