On April 3, the Tovuz District Police Department received information about the forced abduction of a 19-year-old female resident of the district for the purpose of marriage.
According to information provided to “Elchi” by the regional group of the Press Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, with measures taken by police officers, the woman’s location was determined and she was handed over to her family.
Residents of the district suspected of committing the crime — 32-year-old Nemat Mammadov, his brother 34-year-old Ismat Mammadov, their fellow villagers 38-year-old Elmar Abdiyev, and 42-year-old V. Taghiyeva — were detained and handed over to the investigation.
In connection with the incident, a criminal case was initiated under the article of kidnapping of the Criminal Code, and they were brought to criminal responsibility. Investigative inquiries are ongoing.
