Traffic monitoring in preparation for WUF13

To ensure the safe and efficient management of traffic flow within the framework of the Thirteenth Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), which will be held in Baku on May 17–22, vehicle movement will be monitored along designated routes.

“Elchi” reports that, in this regard, within the framework of the monitoring to be carried out jointly by the WUF13 Azerbaijan Operating Company and relevant agencies, temporary restrictions on movement are planned for the night of April 11-12 in several streets and avenues of Baku.

The monitoring will cover the directions of Baku Crystal Hall, “Fairmont Baku Flame Towers”, “Four Seasons Hotel Baku”, “JW Marriott Absheron Baku”, “The Ritz-Carlton”, Heydar Aliyev International Airport, and the event venue, Baku Olympic Stadium.

Drivers and other road users are kindly requested to plan their movements in advance on the specified date, take into account possible congestion in the mentioned directions, and use alternative routes.

The exact areas where restrictions will be applied and other information will be presented to the public in the next stage.

It should be noted that the monitoring of vehicle movement conducted prior to WUF13 has also been applied and successfully implemented within the framework of preparations for several global events held in Azerbaijan over the past decade.
