A private plane crashed into a restaurant building in Brazil.

Local authorities stated that the incident occurred in Capão da Canoa, Rio Grande do Sul state. The “Piper JetProp DLX” model aircraft took off from the local airport and shortly after takeoff, crashed into a pole at the end of the runway. The out-of-control aircraft then fell onto the restaurant building, followed by an explosion and a fire.
All four people on board the plane at the time of the incident died, and it was not possible to save them. Police added that no one on the ground was injured because the restaurant was closed.
Traffic in the area was restricted after the crash. Firefighters, police, and representatives of the city administration were dispatched to the scene. The fire was quickly localized, and residents of neighboring houses were evacuated.
The causes of the crash are currently under investigation. Investigators are considering technical malfunction and flight conditions as the main hypotheses.
