Iran’s Foreign Minister: We are trying to maintain friendly relations with Qatar

Iran is trying to maintain friendly relations with Qatar and other countries in the region, but is forced to attack areas where US and Israeli bases are located.

“Elchi” reports that Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said this in a phone conversation with his Qatari counterpart Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani.

“We pay special attention to maintaining and developing friendly relations with regional countries, including Qatar, but the use of US and Israeli bases in these countries for strikes against Iran has led Tehran to also attack,” Araqchi stated, emphasizing his hope that regional countries will move towards collective, internal peace and security.

According to him, attacks by the US and Israel on schools, universities, hospitals, industrial and production infrastructure, and nuclear facilities should be judged and punished by international bodies.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani emphasized the necessity of an immediate cessation of the war and the restoration of stability and security in the region.

During the conversation, views were exchanged on Iran-Qatar bilateral relations.
