In January this year, Azerbaijan imported 8,222 tons of fertilizer (excluding organic fertilizers) worth 5.13 million US dollars.
According to calculations made by “Elchi” based on data from the State Statistical Committee, this is 1% more in value and 37% less in quantity compared to the same period in 2025.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan bought 5,375 tons (-56%) of fertilizer worth 2.41 million US dollars (31% less than the previous year) from Russia, 419 tons (+3.5 times) worth 1.33 million US dollars (+40%) from Turkey, 1,201 tons worth 684 thousand US dollars from China (no supply a year ago), 416.5 tons worth 250 thousand US dollars from Poland (no supply a year ago), and 380 tons (+16 times) worth 108 thousand US dollars (+22 times) from Georgia.
In 2025, 85% of the 172 thousand tons of fertilizer imported to Azerbaijan accounted for Russia.
