White House proposes 10% cut in non-military spending

The American administration proposes to reduce non-military expenditures of the US federal budget by 10% for the 2027 fiscal year.

“Elchi” reports that this information is provided in the reference documents published by the White House in connection with the submission of the budget draft for the next fiscal year to the US Congress.

“Non-military expenditures have been reduced by $73 billion, or 10%”, — it is noted in the accompanying documents prepared by the executive branch.

At the same time, the administration proposes to increase military allocations to $1.5 trillion in 2027. This is $445 billion, or 42% more than in the 2026 fiscal year. Military expenditures include, in particular, the purchase of 18 new ships for the US Navy, 16 supply ships, 5 ships for the Army and Coast Guard, as well as 1 ship for research in the Arctic through the National Science Foundation.
