In accordance with the agreement on military cooperation signed between Azerbaijan and Turkey, a ceremony for the exchange of Azerbaijan-Turkey state flags was held in preparation for the “Heydar Aliyev-2026” joint exercise to be held in Kars, Turkey.
“Elchi” reports that the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan released information about this.
The flag team, starting from the Headquarters of the Combined Arms Army (CAA), began a march from Nakhchivan city towards the Sadarak border-crossing point – to the “Umid” bridge over the Aras River. At the same time, Turkey’s flag team also marched from Kars city towards the venue where the ceremony would be held.
After the State Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Independence March of the Republic of Turkey were performed at the “Umid” bridge, the flag exchange ceremony took place.
Then, at the event held to send off the personnel and military equipment to be involved in the exercise to the training ground, CAA Commander Lieutenant General Kenan Seyidov spoke about the importance of the joint military exercise and wished success to the exercise participants.
After the event, the units to be involved in the exercise departed from Nakhchivan city.
It was noted that the purpose of conducting the exercise is to plan and execute joint operations in accordance with the principles of modern warfare, organize coordination, exchange experience on comprehensive combat support, and enhance the knowledge and skills of personnel.
According to the exercise plan, combat and special tasks will be carried out in various conditions.

Units of the Combined Arms Army have visited Turkey.
The Ministry of National Defense of Turkey released information about this.
According to the information, the units will participate in the “Heydar Aliyev-2026” exercises to be held under the command of the 14th Mechanized Infantry Brigade.
It is reported that the personnel of Turkey’s 5th Border Brigade welcomed Azerbaijani servicemen at the Hasrat Bridge and a flag ceremony was organized.
