“Elchi” reports that Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said this while commenting on US President Donald Trump’s statements about the US’s possible withdrawal from the North Atlantic Alliance.
“As for the North Atlantic Alliance, it is an alliance hostile to us, an alliance that considers us an enemy and takes corresponding hostile actions. This is how we view this alliance,” Peskov noted.
A day earlier, Trump stated in an interview with Britain’s “The Telegraph” newspaper that he was seriously considering withdrawing the US from NATO after its allies refused to participate in a military operation against Iran. The American president called the alliance a “paper tiger” and emphasized that the withdrawal was not subject to control.
