Ilham Aliyev: Azerbaijan’s humanitarian aid to Iran will continue

Azerbaijan will send the next humanitarian aid to Iran in the near future.

“Elchi” reports that this was stated by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev during a phone conversation with his Iranian counterpart Masoud Pezeshkian.

The head of state said that Azerbaijan’s humanitarian aid to Iran would continue and emphasized that the next humanitarian aid would be sent in the near future.

It should be noted that on March 18, based on the phone conversation between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian that took place on March 8, 2026, a second humanitarian aid was sent to Iran to meet the current needs of the neighboring and friendly Iranian people.

The first humanitarian aid from Azerbaijan to Iran was sent on March 10. The humanitarian aid included nearly 30 tons of food products, including 10 tons of flour, 6 tons of rice, 2.4 tons of sugar, over 4 tons of drinking water, nearly 600 kilograms of tea, as well as nearly 2 tons of medicines and medical supplies.
