Finnish and Iranian Presidents Discuss Situation in Strait of Hormuz

Finnish President Alexander Stubb and his Iranian counterpart Masoud Pezeshkian discussed the situation in the Strait of Hormuz during a phone call.

“Elchi” reports that Stubb wrote about this on his “X” social network account.

“I had a phone conversation with the Iranian President. We discussed the situation in Iran and the Middle East. It is urgent to achieve a ceasefire and a diplomatic settlement. I emphasized the necessity of stopping attacks on neighboring countries and restoring navigation in the Strait of Hormuz,” he said.

Stubb also noted that despite existing disagreements, dialogue between the parties should continue.

It should be recalled that the US and Israel launched military operations against Iran on February 28. As a result, Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and several high-ranking officials were killed. After this, Iran began striking targets it had identified in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Bahrain, Iraq, and Cyprus, where military bases of the US and its allies are located, in addition to Israel.
