“Euronews”: Azerbaijan-EU Partnership Strengthens Amid Regional Events

Against the backdrop of increasing tension in the Middle East, Azerbaijan is becoming an increasingly important strategic partner for the European Union (EU).

“Elchi” reports that these ideas were included in an analytical article published on the website of “Euronews” TV channel.

“In recent years, relations between Azerbaijan and the EU have entered a dynamic development phase, with political, economic, and energy security areas increasingly acquiring a strategic character. Increasing investments, exchanging technological achievements, and simplifying the visa regime can further strengthen these ties,” the material stated.

It was noted that the visit of the President of the European Union Council, Antonio Costa, to Azerbaijan on March 11–12, 2026, can be considered an important stage in bilateral relations. Within the framework of the visit, a meeting between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Costa took place. The leaders’ joint statements indicate a common intention to deepen cooperation in the fields of economy, energy, transport, security, and other key areas.

It is clear from the article that the European Union considers Azerbaijan a strategically important partner, especially in terms of energy security and import diversification, against the backdrop of the rapidly changing situation in the Middle East.
