Azerbaijan is known as a country reliably contributing to ensuring energy security.
According to “Elchi”, Prime Minister Ali Asadov stated this at the Baku meeting of prime ministers and vice-presidents of the member countries of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS).
“Cooperation in the energy sector is also one of the important directions of our agenda. For many years, Azerbaijan has been known as a country reliably contributing to ensuring energy security. The experience we have gained and the infrastructure we have developed in the field of traditional energy resources today create new cooperation opportunities. Today, the number of countries receiving Azerbaijani gas has already reached 16. Thus, Azerbaijan has ranked first in the world by the number of countries to which it exports gas via pipelines.
However, our energy policy is not limited only to hydrocarbon resources. Azerbaijan is currently actively promoting the green energy agenda and attaches special importance to the development of renewable energy sources. The development of inter-regional ties by utilizing the renewable energy potential of Azerbaijan, as well as Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, is one of the main directions of our cooperation. In this regard, we welcome Kyrgyzstan’s intention to join cooperation on the export of green energy to Europe,” the Prime Minister noted.
