Sargsyan’s party will not participate in parliamentary elections

The Republican Party of Armenia, led by the third president of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, will not directly participate in the parliamentary elections to be held on June 7, 2026.

“Elchi” citing Armenian media, reports that this decision was adopted on April 1 at the meeting of the executive body of the Republican Party.

It was noted that the decision was made based on the results of a comprehensive analysis. The justification for the decision, as well as the party’s future steps, will be presented at the party’s 18th congress, which will be held on April 4.
