Nearly 5,000 insurance incidents recorded during holidays

During the holidays (March 20-30), various types of insurance incidents were recorded in many regions of our republic, including Baku, both during holiday festivities and vacation travels, and as a result of above-normal rainfall recorded across the republic.

“Elchi” reports that this was stated by the Azerbaijan Insurers Association.

It was noted that, according to the latest accurate data as of today, a total of 4576 insured applications were received by 8 non-life insurance companies regarding insurance incidents that occurred on March 20-30, 2026. Of these applications, 3636 were related to compulsory motor insurance (Compulsory Motor Third Party Liability Insurance), 651 to “Kasko” (Motor Vehicle Insurance), 210 to “Compulsory Real Estate Insurance”, and 80 to “Property Insurance against Fire and Other Risks”.

For the 4045 evaluated insurance incidents, the estimated damage amount was determined to be 6 million 57 thousand 25 manats. For the remaining 531 incidents, the damage assessment process is ongoing.

It was stated that 77% of the incidents based on applications received by insurance companies were recorded in the capital Baku, and 23% in other regions of our republic (especially in the Northern region).

“Currently, incidents related to all received applications are in the adjustment and damage assessment phase, and insurance adjustment is planned for each incident recognized as an insurance event. After the assessment process for all incidents is completed, the total damage amount is expected to be close to 10 million manats” – ASA added.
