A drill was conducted in a residential complex consisting of multi-storey buildings located at 8 Aliyar Aliyev Street, Narimanov district, Baku city, organized by the State Fire Control Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and with the participation of the State Fire Protection Service.
According to information provided by the MES Press Service to “Elchi”, the drill was conducted with a conditional fire alarm to assess the ability of fire equipment to approach the residential building and the water pool, and to evaluate the overall operational conditions for fire suppression in the area.
During the drill, it was determined that fire trucks could not freely approach the residential building and the water pool due to the irregular parking of private vehicles. Furthermore, it was also determined that the building was not fully equipped with primary fire extinguishing means, internal fire hydrants were not fully equipped, the automatic fire alarm system was not fully installed throughout the area and was not in working condition, and the electrical system did not meet the requirements of the “Rules for the Installation of Electrical Installations”.
Regarding the elimination of the noted deficiencies, oral and written instructions were given to the persons responsible for fire safety of the residential complex, and at the same time, educational talks were held with the residents of the residential complex about ensuring fire safety. It was brought to attention that during fires and other emergency situations, for rescue and fire extinguishing vehicles, and other large-sized special purpose equipment to enter the courtyards of buildings unimpeded, to be quickly brought into operational readiness and for operations to be carried out effectively, as well as for convenient use of water pools and hydrants, vehicles must be parked only in designated places, maintaining a distance from each other, and ensuring free passage for other vehicles.
