Zelenskyy: The US sees only one way to end the conflict – with Ukrainian concessions.
“Elchi” reports that the US sees only one way to end the conflict between Moscow and Kyiv: through territorial concessions from Ukraine. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated this in an interview with Axios.
Zelenskyy expressed concern that Washington might return to a policy of pressuring Kyiv to make territorial concessions.
“They want to end the war. What worries me is that they see only one way to do it. <…> But why should we pay for it? We are not the aggressor,” Zelenskyy asked.
According to him, the White House sees no other way to end the conflict than for the Ukrainian Armed Forces to withdraw from the occupied territories.
On March 30, Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that peace talks had not “reached a dead end,” but that a trilateral meeting of representatives from Russia, Ukraine, and the US was postponed because the Americans did not leave the US. Zelenskyy also stated that he refused to consider Ukraine the losing side and emphasized that Kyiv would not surrender.
On March 29, President Vladimir Putin’s aide Yuri Ushakov stated that the US had put forward a number of interesting proposals for resolving the Ukrainian crisis, but they had not been implemented.
