The International Secretariat of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TURKPA) has issued a statement regarding March 31 – Day of Genocide of Azerbaijanis.
“Elchi” reports that the statement says:
“The TURKPA International Secretariat commemorates with deep respect the memory of the victims of the massacres committed against the Azerbaijani people in 1918, in connection with March 31 – Day of Genocide of Azerbaijanis.
On the grounds of ethnic cleansing, this terrible massacre carried out in various regions of Azerbaijan, which ended the lives of thousands of innocent people, has been etched into the blood memory of the nation as one of the gravest crimes. This event, perpetrated against innocent people, also dealt a serious blow to the cultural and spiritual heritage of the people.
The TURKPA International Secretariat strongly condemns the genocide committed 108 years ago and commemorates the dear memory of the victims of the tragedy with deep sorrow.”
