President Ilham Aliyev has signed a decree on the establishment of the Presidential Pension of the Republic of Azerbaijan for family members of mine clearers who died as a result of an accident caused by the detonation of explosive ordnance during mine clearance operations, or who lost their lives due to injuries sustained during such operations.
“Elchi” presents the text of the decree:
1. The Presidential Pension of the Republic of Azerbaijan shall be established for family members of mine clearers who died as a result of an accident caused by the detonation of explosive ordnance during mine clearance operations, or who lost their lives due to injuries sustained during such operations, and its monthly amount shall be set at 700 (seven hundred) manats.
2. It shall be determined that the Presidential Pension of the Republic of Azerbaijan established in accordance with part 1 of this Decree:
2.1. shall be paid to the following family members of a mine clearer who died as a result of an accident caused by the detonation of explosive ordnance during mine clearance operations, or who lost their lives due to injuries sustained during such operations (the pension amount being divided into equal parts according to their number):
2.1.1. to his (her) widow (widower), parents;
2.1.2. to his (her) children under the age of 18 (or until they complete their education in vocational, secondary specialized, and higher education institutions, but no later than reaching the age of 23), or children with disabilities over the age of 18 whose disability was determined before reaching the age of 18, and to his (her) brothers and sisters raised in orphanages;
2.1.3. to his (her) grandparents who have no other relatives in the first degree of kinship;
2.2. shall be paid by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan from the expenses allocated for the said Ministry in the state budget;
2.3. the Presidential Pension of the Republic of Azerbaijan established by part 1 of this Decree shall also apply to family members of mine clearers who died as a result of an accident caused by the detonation of explosive ordnance during mine clearance operations, or who lost their lives due to injuries sustained during such operations, before the date this Decree entered into force, and shall be paid for the period subsequent to the date this Decree entered into force.
3. The Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan shall resolve issues arising from this Decree.
