The “Kharibulbul” IX International Music Festival will be held in Shusha on May 14-15, organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Ministry of Culture.
“Elchi” reports that this year’s festival will also be remembered for its interesting program and presentations by talented art figures from various countries around the world.
One of the main goals of the festival is to contribute to the development of cultural dialogue and promote creative exchange among musicians. For this very reason, representatives of art from the USA, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Japan, and other countries, along with Azerbaijani performers and music groups, have been invited to the “Kharibulbul” International Music Festival, a rich cultural event.
The festival will kick off with a concert on May 14 at Jidir Plain. The event will cover several venues in Shusha over 2 days.
It should be noted that the “Kharibulbul” Music Festival, named after the flower that is the symbol of Shusha, has been held since 1989. In May of that year, the festival started in Abdal Gulabli village of Aghdam district in connection with the 100th anniversary of the famous khananda, pedagogue, People’s Artist Seyid Shushinski, continued in Shusha, and concluded with a final concert in Aghdam. Since 1990, the “Kharibulbul” festival gained international status. During the Karabakh conflict, the main concerts were organized in Aghdam. Several concerts of the festival were also held in Barda and Agjabadi.
After our lands were liberated from occupation with our historic victory in the Patriotic War, the festival returned to Shusha. Some concerts of the festival were also held in Lachin city.
This festival of friendship and music, with the participation of numerous musicians from many countries around the world, contributes to strengthening intercultural dialogue, in addition to preserving the rich traditions of our cultural heritage.
