MES conducted a conditional fire drill in a residential complex – VIDEO

A drill was conducted in a multi-story residential complex located at Azadlig Avenue 185, Binagadi district, Baku city, at the initiative of the State Fire Control Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and with the participation of the State Fire Protection Service.
According to information provided by MES to “Elchi”, the drill was held with a conditional fire alarm to assess the ability of fire equipment to approach the residential building and the water pool, and generally to evaluate the operational conditions for fire suppression in the area.

During the drill, it was determined that fire trucks could not freely approach the residential building and the usable water pool to deploy due to disorderly parking of personal vehicles and artificial obstacles. Furthermore, it was identified that there was no emergency lighting system, the building was not fully equipped with primary fire extinguishing means, the electrical system did not meet the requirements of the “Rules for Installation of Electrical Equipment,” and the fire alarm system was not fully installed throughout the area and was not in working condition.

Oral and written instructions were given to the persons responsible for the fire safety of the building regarding the elimination of the identified deficiencies. At the same time, educational discussions were held with the residents of the residential building on ensuring fire safety. It was brought to attention that during fires and other emergency situations, rescue and fire extinguishing vehicles, as well as other large-sized special-purpose equipment, must be able to enter the courtyards of buildings unimpeded, be quickly brought into operational readiness, and operations conducted effectively. Furthermore, for easy access to water pools and hydrants, vehicles must be parked only in designated areas, maintaining a distance from each other, and ensuring free passage for other vehicles.
