Landslide zones activated after rain – OFFICIAL

As a result of intensive rainfall in recent days, certain changes have been recorded in the existing landslide areas across the country.
“Elchi” reports that Ali Aliyev, Chairman of the Board of the Geological Exploration Agency of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources (MENR), informed “Qafqazinfo” about this.
According to him, the Operational Monitoring Group is conducting observations in the landslide zones:
“Monitoring has been carried out in landslide areas located across the country, mainly in the Absheron Peninsula. Based on preliminary results, the preparation of preventive measures, which are crucial to be taken in cooperation with the Ministry of Emergency Situations, has begun. During the monitoring, activity in landslide processes was recorded in the territories of Zigh settlement of Khatai district and Badamdar settlement of Sabail district
Local subsidence and erosion cases have been observed in the Badamdar landslide area. However, these processes are not intensive and are assessed at a low level of activity. Currently, the Ministry of Emergency Situations is implementing appropriate preventive measures in the area. At the same time, landslide elements, subsidence, and collapse cases have also been detected in some local areas on the right and left sides of the central road of the settlement. Monitoring continues, and based on preliminary data, the main directions of necessary preventive measures are identified and submitted to relevant agencies.”
