Belgium thanked Azerbaijan

Maxim Prevot, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Belgium, Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Affairs, and Development Cooperation, called Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov.

“Elchi” reports that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) released information about this.

During the phone conversation, the current security situation in the Middle East, bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Belgium, as well as cooperation prospects within the framework of the European Union were discussed.

The ministers expressed deep concern over the current military escalation in the Middle East and emphasized the importance of a diplomatic resolution to the conflict. The Belgian minister also expressed solidarity with our country regarding the drone attack from Iranian territory towards Nakhchivan. At the same time, thanks were extended to our country for the conditions created for the evacuation of Belgian citizens from Iran.

The ministers also exchanged views on the normalization process between Azerbaijan and Armenia. J. Bayramov informed the other side about the measures taken to ensure lasting peace and stability in the region.

The parties emphasized the importance of constructive dialogue and existing mechanisms such as political consultations, mutual visits, and high-level contacts for further developing cooperation on issues of mutual interest between Azerbaijan and Belgium.
