If the US attacks Iran’s Kharg Island, the Islamic Republic may expand its target list.
According to information citing TASS from “Elchi”, Iran’s ambassador to Zimbabwe, Amir Hossein Hosseini, stated this.
“In response to threats against Iranian islands and critical infrastructure, Tehran has issued a clear and firm warning: any attack on sovereign Iranian territory or vital economic facilities will be met with a decisive and proportionate response.
According to Iranian doctrine, this response will not necessarily be limited to the attacked territory, but may encompass broader strategic objectives related to the enemy. As Iranian officials have emphasized, the main goal is to achieve significant and tangible consequences for those responsible for any action taken,” the ambassador noted.
He hopes that the conflict will conclude through a political solution, likely taking into account the realities on the ground and respecting Iran’s sovereignty and deterrent posture. The diplomat emphasized that Iran is primarily concerned with the security and well-being of its citizens: “Sanctions, pressures, and external threats imposed over decades have not weakened Iran; on the contrary, they have increased its capabilities in defense, technology, and crisis management.”
