“Arshin Mal Alan” was showcased on the opera stage in Ankara

Uzeyir Hajibeyli’s “Arshin Mal Alan” was showcased on the opera stage in Ankara, Turkey.

This was reported to “Elchi” by the Azerbaijani Cultural Center operating in Turkey.

According to an agreement reached between the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism’s General Directorate of Opera and Ballet and the Azerbaijani Cultural Center in Turkey, works by Azerbaijani composers are being showcased on Turkey’s opera stages.

Within the framework of this cooperation, on March 26, Uzeyir Hajibeyli’s famous operetta “Arshin Mal Alan,” a work by the great Azerbaijani composer and a pinnacle of Turkic world music, was staged in Ankara.
The premiere of the work was attended by Demet Gökalp, General Director of Ankara Opera and Ballet, Samir Abbasov, Director of the Azerbaijani Cultural Center, cultural and art figures, local Azerbaijanis, media representatives, and the general public.

The main roles in the performance were played by Asgar-Şenol Talınlı, Gulchohra-Esin Talınlı, Asya-Olça Bora, Suleyman-Serkan Kocadere, Asgar’s aunt-Sibel Kızıltaş, Soltan bey-Mehmet Yılmaz, Telli-Ayten Hanalioğlu, and Vali-İbrahim Halil Turgut.

The high-quality stage design, decorations, the artists’ roles performed using both Azerbaijani and Turkish languages, and the music were met with great interest.
The performance of “Arshin Mal Alan,” which played to a full house, was accompanied by the applause of the Ankara audience.

It should be noted that the aforementioned performance is also planned to be staged in various regions of Turkey through the joint cooperation of the Azerbaijani Cultural Center and the Ankara State Opera and Ballet Theatre.

This project is of great importance for the promotion of Azerbaijani culture in Turkey and for further strengthening cultural ties between the two brotherly countries.
